C
Stephen is an eight-year-old boy from Breck Primary School. Yesterday he saved a woman lying on the side of the road. When he saw the woman, he ran over. He tried to talk to her and then checked(检查) her breathing. Luckily, she was breathing. Stephen didn't move her. He called an ambulance and stayed with the woman until it arrived. Finally, he helped to move the woman onto the ambulance.
"I was worried at first, but I remembered what to do because I learned first aid at school," Stephen said. "My skill of first aid saved the woman."
Stephen's teacher Anita Wylie shared, "It is a life skill that I think all children should learn. I am happy to teach this important life skill to children here. Last week we taught first aid to eighty students, one quarter of the students in our school. Now they are putting it into practice. For example, when David's classmate Jenny got hit on the head in P. E. class, David acted quickly. He put a bandage on Jenny's head and then sent her to the school hospital at once."
When a group of children aged between eight and nine in Breck Primary School talked about their first aid lessons, "love" was a word that came up over and over again. "I once did call an ambulance for my friend," Emily shared. "I love being able to help people and I love first aid."
