Wondrous pines 奇松
Huangshan’s wondrous pines grow firmly on steep rocky cliffs. They have twisted, thin branches and look graceful against the mountains. The most famous one is the Guest-Greeting Pine, which welcomes every visitor warmly.
Unique rocks 怪石
There are countless strange-shaped stones all over Huangshan Mountain. Different stones look like animals, fairies or daily objects when seen from different angles. Each rock has an interesting story behind its special shape.
The sea of clouds 云海
Early in the morning, thick white clouds cover the mountain valleys like a soft ocean. Peaks stick out above the clouds just like small islands. When the wind blows, the clouds flow and change shapes quickly.
Hot springs 温泉
Huangshan’s hot springs come out from deep inside the mountains all year round. The warm clean water tastes fresh and keeps a comfortable temperature in all seasons. Taking a bath in the springs can make our bodies relaxed and comfortable.

I use different coloured clay to make Huangshan’s Four Wonders. I make dark green clay into thin twisted trees for wondrous pines. I kneel grey clay into strange shapes to create unique rocks. White soft clay stands for the rolling sea of clouds, and light blue clay makes the clear hot spring water. I love Huangshan’s amazing natural beauty, so I want to show its charm with my clay work.
