A River's Story: How China Protects Its Water
Hello! I am a river, and I have flowed through China for many years. I want to
tell you about the wonderful things that have been happening to me and the water in
my stream.
In recent years, China has done a lot to protect us. First of all, the government
has built many special places called water treatment plants all over the
country to help us. When the water in my stream gets dirty after flowing through
cities, it is taken to these plants. These plants act like doctors, making sure that all the
bad things are taken out. After this good cleaning, the water returns to me clean and
healthy, and I can run clear again.
Also, some of my water has been on amazing journeys! China has started some
important water moving projects. The South-North Water Transfer Project is one of them. It takes some water from me, here in the wet south, and sends
it to the dry north. This helps millions of people who don't have enough water and
makes lots of farmlands and cities come alive again. Knowing that a part of me can
help others so far away makes me feel very proud.
What's more, people are learning how to be better friends with us. The
government has been working hard to teach everyone about saving water. Now, people
use water-saving tools that need less of me, and they cleverly reuse water for other
things. This makes me feel valued and respected.
With all these kind actions, China is taking good care of us. We are precious
resources, and I am very hopeful for a clean and happy future with all the people here.

1. 第一题提取关键词"water treatment plants",回到原文第二段查找污水处理厂的运作相关描述,整理出净化污水的过程和结果;
2. 第二题提取关键词"to the north",定位到第三段关于南水北调工程的内容,分别梳理送水去北方的原因、以及给当地人和农田带来的帮助两部分信息;
