2025年实验班提优训练九年级英语上册译林版第167页答案
Ⅴ. 阅读理解
Nowadays, there are so many detectives in fiction that detective stories are considered their own genre(类别). Where did this genre come from? Most people think detective stories were created by USA writer Edgar Allan Poe (1809—1849). His detective was named C. Auguste Dupin, and first appeared in 1841.
Poe created Dupin before anyone heard the word “detective”, says the website Novel Suspects. So, he is usually considered the father of detective fiction.
In Poe's stories, Dupin is born into a rich French family. He is skilled at guessing the thoughts of others by noticing the smallest details. He also has a good friend who tells his stories and explains certain details to readers.
Does that sound familiar? Arthur Conan Doyle used Poe's style as a blueprint(蓝图) for Sherlock Holmes and John Watson. He was influenced by Poe.
Dupin's way of solving cases is different. He enters the mind of the criminal and then tries to think the same way as the criminal. By knowing everything that a criminal knows, he can solve any crime. Take The Purloined Letter (《失窃的信》) as an example, which is about finding a letter that is hidden by a minister(大臣). Dupin places himself in the mind of the minister and realizes that the minister would have hidden the letter in the most obvious(明显的) place.
Another thing Dupin is famous for is that he sometimes solves cases and helps people without getting paid. For example, in one story, Dupin helps a man for free who was charged for a crime he hadn't done. Perhaps this is one of the reasons he is such a popular character.

Ⅵ. 新语篇 小说《金银岛》节选 (2025·南通如东实验中学调研)任务型阅读
本文节选自《金银岛》,讲述作者逃离海盗的经历。
The pirates(海盗) did not return. It was very hot and unpleasant inside the fort(营地). I had a plan and I needed to leave the fort.
First I ran down to the white rocks and looked for Ben Gunn's boat. I soon found it under some bushes. As soon as it was dark, I got into the boat and rowed out to the Hispaniola. I found the rope that connected the ship to the anchor and cut through it with my knife until the ship was free.
As I did this, I could hear the angry voices of Israel Hands and another mutineer(反叛者) in a cabin above me.
The ship began to move away in the night air.
By then I was so tired that I fell asleep in the boat when I awoke I found myself at the southwest end of Treasure Island.
I moved slowly to the next bay, and suddenly I saw the Hispaniola in front of me. The wind and the currents(水流) were moving the ship. I couldn't see anyone on it. As soon as I was close enough, I grabbed a rope and climbed on board.
I soon saw two pirates lying on the deck at the back of the ship. One was dead. The other, Israel Hands, was injured and calling for rum(朗姆酒).
I drank the water and give Hands the rum. As he drank it, the colour returned to his cheeks.
“I'm taking over this ship, Mr Hands,” I said. “You will treat me as your captain.”
“I imagine,” said Hands, “you want to get ashore. Now you need my help. Give me some food and drink, and something to tie up my wound. Then I'll tell you how to sail the ship. That's fair, isn't it?”
“I want to get to North Inlet.”
Hands agreed to help me. We soon arrived at the North Inlet. Hands was very good at guiding me in and I followed his instructions perfectly. I was working hard on bringing the ship in safely and forgot to watch Hands. When I turned around Hands was standing behind me, his knife ready...
