Everyone needs food in the world. People like to eat different kinds of food in different places of the world. Every country has its own special food. In England, the most popular food is fish and chips. Americans like fried chicken best. Sushi (寿司) is one of the most popular kinds of traditional food in Japan.
China is very famous for its food in the world. There’re many kinds of food in China. They’re Guangdong food, Sichuan food, Shanghai food, Hunan food and so on. Guangdong food is a bit light. Sichuan food is very hot. Shanghai food is rather oily, and Hunan dishes are very spicy, having a strong and hot taste. Mapo Tofu, steamed fish, sweet and sour pork ribs, spring roll and many Chinese dishes are very delicious. In the north of China, people like to eat noodles and dumplings. While in the south of China, people like to eat rice and seafood. Chinese food is good in colour, flavour and taste.
I’m a northern girl, so my favourite food is Chinese dumplings. We also call it “jiaozi”. It is a traditional and essential food during holidays in Northern China. It is a part of Chinese culture and tradition. It is also one of the most important food in the Spring Festival.
People from the north and the south have different habits of food, so we use different stuffings. We can use pork, mutton, beef and all kinds of vegetables to make the stuffings.
