As a saying goes, "Painting is silent poetry and poetry is painting that speaks." Now a TV programme named "China in Poetry and Painting" that explores the connection between ancient poems and paintings in Chinese history is airing on CCTV. It has caught wide attention across the country.

"We want to find ways that can make ancient poems and paintings come alive." says a director of the programme. To prepare for the programme, the production team worked closely with some experts, choosing nearly 60 classic paintings. About half of them are from the collection of the Palace Museum.
Today, more and more Chinese young people are interested in traditional Chinese culture. Since the programme came out, it has drawn millions of young viewers.
