Once upon a time, there were four blind people. They wanted to know what an elephant looked like. They couldn't see it with their eyes, so they had to touch it with their hands.
The fat blind man touched the elephant's tusk(长牙) first. He said, "I see. An elephant is like a long, thick(粗的) and smooth(光滑的) carrot."
The tall blind man touched the elephant's ear. "No, no. The elephant is like a big fan," he cried out.
"You are just talking nonsense(胡说八道). An elephant is just like a big pillar(柱子)." The short blind man touched the elephant's leg.
The old blind man muttered(嘟囔), "No, the elephant is not that big. It's just like a long straw rope(草绳)." It turned out that he touched the tail of the elephant.

The quarrel(争吵) went on and on, each saying they were right.
But in fact, none of them was right.

从前，有四个盲人想知道大象长什么样子。他们不能用眼睛看，于是他们只能用手摸一摸。
胖盲人先摸到了大象的牙，他说：“我知道了，大象就像一根又长又粗又光滑的胡萝卜。”
高盲人摸到的是大象的耳朵。“不对不对，大象像把大蒲扇。”他喊道。
“你们都在胡说八道。大象像根大柱子。”矮盲人摸到了大象的腿。
而老盲人嘟囔道：“不，大象没有那么大。大象就像一根长长的草绳。”原来他摸到的是大象的尾巴。
四个盲人争吵不休，他们都认为自己是对的。
而事实上，他们之中没有一个人是对的。
