When I was in the sixth grade, one day my teacher asked our class to think about the question "What does 'doing the right thing' mean to you?" over the weekend. By Monday, we had to hand in an essay(文章)on it, and be ready to live up to(实践) our 1.
The whole weekend, I was trying to 2 something that would impress(给……留下深刻的好印象)my teacher and be easy to live up to. I 3 to my parents, called my grandmother and asked my neighbour. Everyone had good answers, but I didn't feel like I could live up to them.
On Sunday afternoon, my parents said they were going to my aunt Cindy's house. That usually meant that I would have to 4 time with my four-year-old cousin Andrea. Though she was a very clever little angel, I had no time to play with her or tell her interesting stories. I found a cartoon for Andrea, and then I sat down and started to write my essay. It was due (到期的) the next morning and this was my last chance.
Soon I felt a pair of 5 on me. It was Andrea.
"What are you doing?" Andrea asked.
"I have to write an essay 6 what 'doing the right thing' means to me," I said.
Andrea laughed. Could this 7 four-year-old girl know the answer? "That's not 8," she said. "‘Doing the right thing’ means being 9 to your family and friends and never telling a lie. Eat lots of fruit and vegetables. 10 when you are dirty."
