Why do Dogs Run After Their Tails?
Puppies(小狗) often run after their tails. This is normal(正常的)when they’re young and playful. Some puppies act as if they don’t know that they even have tails! But why do these dogs do this?
Running after one’s tail is a natural behaviour(行为). It is often seen among different species of predators(捕食性动物). Some experts(专家) believe that this is just a form of play. Young predators run after their tails when they have free time. Unlike prey animals(被捕食动物), most of the time, predators don’t worry if other animals will eat them. So they have time to play.
Usually older dogs don’t run after their tails like puppies do. When older dogs run after their tails, a trip to the veterinarian(兽医)might be a good idea. For example, older dogs might run after their tails when they have fleas(跳蚤).
