The old man and his monkeys
An old man keeps a lot of monkeys. These monkeys do not like eating bananas. They like eating chestnuts (栗子).
One day, the old man says to the monkeys, “We don’t have many chestnuts now. Each (每个) of you can have seven chestnuts every day. Is that OK?” The monkeys are very happy because they can eat chestnuts every day. Then, the old man says, “You can have three chestnuts in the morning and four in the evening.” The monkeys are not happy. They do not want to eat one less (少) in the morning. The old man then says, “How about four in the morning and three in the evening?” The monkeys are happy again because they think they can eat one more (多) in the morning.

2 The monkeys are happy because they can eat seven chestnuts every day.
3 The monkeys are not happy because they can only have four chestnuts every morning.
