Once upon a time, the youngest daughter of Emperor Yan went boating on the Eastern Sea. Unluckily, she fell into the sea and died. Then her spirit turned into a beautiful bird. As it flew over the sea, it cried sadly in the sound “jingwei”. So people called it “jingwei”.
