“Mike, three months has passed since you researched the new robot of Company F. Has there been any progress?” I felt a great headache in the face of my boss Jack.
Company F is the business competitor of the company I work for. Four months ago, the new robot developed by Company F was deeply loved by customers, which makes our robot less popular. So Jack ordered me to research their robot and find out its disadvantages.
Alvis is the robot I bought from Company F. After several months of research, the biggest difference between Alvis and our company's robot is that Alvis has an emotion（情感）system, which allows the robot to analyze（分析）human facial expressions, and then provide services for different emotions.
I have to say that Alvis is indeed much better than our robot. I like taking it with me everywhere.
One night, while I was taking a walk with Alvis, it suddenly said happily, “I'm friends with you.” I was shocked and then said, “No, I won't be friends with robots.” I knew the emotions of robots were set by computers, and they were not true.
Even so, Alvis smiled, “I'll try to be your friend. I'll protect you.” But I didn't think so.
One night as usual, I took a walk with Alvis on a quiet path. Suddenly, a group of people stood in the way, holding sticks, shouting at me angrily, “We lost jobs because you made so many robots!” They waved sticks and then there was a sudden pain in the back of my head. When I was losing my consciousness（意识）, I seemed to see Alvis rushing towards me.
When I woke up, I was already in hospital. Seeing me wake up, Jack said excitedly, “Mike, you were so lucky! You just got a slight injury on your head while other people on the scene were all badly hurt. Guess what? Company F is going to close down!” Seeing my wide - open eyes, he explained, “After the accident, I checked the surveillance and found that Alvis attacked humans. I showed it to the public at once. Now, customers refuse to buy products from Company F.”
“Where's Alvis now?” I asked anxiously. “Ah, it has been sent back to Company F.”
When I hurried to Company F, I learned that Alvis had been destroyed.
