The tomato fight comes on the last (最后的) Wednesday of August (八月). On that day, people prepare lots of tomatoes in the street. The fight begins at 11 o’clock in the morning. Before throwing (投掷) tomatoes, people always crush (捏碎) them so others will not get hurt (受伤). They usually wear goggles (护目镜) and gloves too. People enjoy the fight. Soon, they have tomato juice all over their bodies. The street also becomes red with tomato juice. The fight goes on for about an hour. After the fight, people use water to clean the street and themselves.
