基础性作业 必做
I Cloze test.
The more you need, the less you get. This principle often works.
One day, a student asked his teacher, “What is greed (贪婪)?”
The teacher didn’t answer his 1 directly, but asked the student to walk through the 2 next to their school and pick out the 3 chocolate bar he could find. But there was a 4. As he passed through the factory, the student could not 5.
The student went to the chocolate factory. As he walked, he saw a large chocolate bar. He liked it, but he thought he might be able to find an even bigger one if he kept 6. He walked further and saw another chocolate bar. This one was a little bigger. But again, he thought the same. As he neared the end of the factory, he saw fewer chocolate bars, and 7 of them were as large as the earlier ones. He started to make the 8 to keep going.
Finally, he gave up. He went back to the teacher with his hands 9 and explained what had happened.
The teacher told him, “You liked the first chocolate bar, but you kept looking for a bigger one. And later you realised that you had given up the biggest chocolate bar you could find there. That is called greed.”
Sometimes, we let go of 10 things in our life because we think we can find something better. We should learn to make our choices wisely.
