A
Sometimes, family life can be hard. Our family had lots of ups and downs.
I have an elder brother and an elder sister. I'm the baby boy in the family. We grew up in a small house. My mum and dad often argued over small things. My brother and sister argued, too, and I used to argue as well.
But as I got older, I was always chosen to be the mediator(调解员). I would try to listen to both sides and then bring them together to make peace. "Dad, you shouldn't say that to Mum, but Mum, try to see it in this way. Come on, we all should love each other." This method often worked.
I learned a lot while growing up in our family including understanding others, being patient and accepting that sometimes things just don't go our way. We may say something we don't really mean, especially when we are angry. But it's important to calm down and try to understand each other. Of course, it's normal to argue sometimes, yet we should also find a way to fix the problem. As long as we can reflect and treat family members with understanding and care, we can help each other out and weather the storm.

答案

1.B 2.C 3.D 4.A 5.D

解析

1. 细节理解题:根据原文第二段“I have an elder brother and an elder sister. I'm the baby boy in the family.”,可知作者是家中年龄最小的孩子。
2. 细节理解题:根据原文第三段“I would try to listen to both sides and then bring them together to make peace.”,可知作者作为调解员的工作是倾听双方诉求,努力让争吵的人和解,其余选项均和原文内容不符,因此选C。
3. 细节理解题:根据原文最后一段“As long as we can reflect and treat family members with understanding and care, we can help each other out”,可知作者从家庭生活中学到家人之间应当互相理解、互相关爱。
