Running should not be a dangerous activity. For your own safety, learn these tips
and try to be a good runner!
☆ Take your time
If you develop an interest in running, you may want to run often. However, overdoing it
or pushing yourself too hard can cause you to get hurt. It's also important not to run too fast at
the beginning. Run at a pace that feels comfortable. And if you're planning on a long-
distance run, remember to increase your pace slowly.
☆ Take breaks
Resting is as important as training. Your body needs time to rest after hard runs. Sam
Murphy, a running coach, says that if you run hard one day, you should take a break or do an
easier run the next day. Some runners follow the 80/20 plan: 80% of their runs each week are
easy, and only 20% are hard.
☆ Have a strong body
According to Runner's World, strength training is great for runners. It can help make your
body stronger, lower the risk of getting hurt, and even improve your speed. However, this
doesn't mean you need to do heavy weight training. Simple exercise at home, like sit-ups and
push-ups, can be good too.
☆ Have a good diet
Eating and drinking the right things is also important. "Many people forget this,"
Dr Paul Hobrough said. "Drink lots of water and eat foods rich in protein, like
eggs, chicken and milk. These can help your energy return quickly."

And if you're planning on a long-distance run, remember to increase your pace slowly.",可知计划长跑时要慢慢提升步速,对应选项B。
2. 细节理解题:定位到原文"Take breaks"部分中跑步教练Sam Murphy的表述"if you run hard one day, you should take a break or do an easier run the next day",可知他的建议是高强度跑步后要休息,对应选项A。
Eating and drinking the right things is also important.",可知这里的this指代的是“养成良好的饮食饮水习惯”,对应选项C。
For your own safety, learn these tips and try to be a good runner!",全文所有贴士都是为了保障跑步者的安全,因此文章的主要目的是帮助跑步者保持安全,对应选项B。
1.B 2.A 3.C 4.B 5.C
