Anne's Birthday Gift
Anne's birthday is in spring. She gets so many gifts. But she is most interested in one gift—five small seeds from her brother Bob.
Anne plants the seeds in a flowerpot, and watches them every day.

Anne: Are these green beans? Are these carrots?
Bob: It's a secret.
July comes.

Anne: Are these potatoes?
Bob: It's a secret.
August comes.
Anne: Nice flowers! Are these tomatoes?
Bob: It's a secret.
September comes.
Anne: So many green balls. What are these?

October comes. The balls are not green. They are big and orange.
Anne: Look! They're not apples! They're not bananas! They're pumpkins!

Anne is happy. She likes the birthday gift very much. Waiting is the best birthday gift.
