二、阅读短文,根据短文内容,完成下列各题。
〔经典故事〕Once upon a time, there lived an old man in the State of Song. He liked monkeys and raised a lot of them at home. He could understand the monkeys, and they could also understand him. He fed his own family’s food to the monkeys to make them happy.
Later, there came a time when their food wasn’t enough. He had to give less food to the monkeys. But he was afraid that the monkeys would not listen to him. Therefore, he decided to use a trick to make them accept less food. He talked about the matter with his monkeys, “Now there is not enough food for you. From today on, I will give each of you three acorns(橡树果)in the morning and four acorns in the evening. Is that OK?” Hearing this, all the monkeys got angry. They didn’t agree with this. Then the old man said, “So I’ll give each of you four acorns in the morning and three acorns in the evening. Would that be enough?” Thinking that there were four in the morning, all the monkeys became happy again. The old man’s trick worked. He saved his food successfully, and every monkey was happy.
This is the story behind the idiom “three in the morning and four in the evening”. At the beginning, the idiom shows that someone fools others by playing tricks. It later means changing one’s mind very often or not being responsible(负责任的).

6.Why did the old man give less food to the monkeys?
7.How did the monkeys feel when they heard that they would get four acorns in the morning?
8.What does “three in the morning and four in the evening” mean later?
9.What do you think of the old man according to the story? Why? (within 20 words)
