Story one
In the Jin Dynasty, there is a man named Che Yin.
He loves learning. His family is poor, so he can't buy an oil lamp.
One summer night, he sees many fireflies lighting up the sky (照亮天空). He has a good idea.
He catches as many fireflies as he can, puts them into a thin (薄的) bag, and hangs it up (挂起它). It is not as bright as a lamp, but the light is enough for Che Yin to read at night.
Later Che Yin becomes a scholar (学者).
Story two
In the Jin Dynasty, Sun Kang can't read at night either. He thinks it is a pity to waste (浪费) time at night.
One day, it is snowing hard outside. In the middle of the night, he sees a light come through the window. It is light from the snow. He gets up and begins to read books outside.
He finally becomes a well-learned man.
