Yang Su, a 61-year-old micro loggers( 短视频博主), has more than 2. 3 million followers on China’s famous short video APP. “Two and a half years ago, my son put a short video of me playing the piano at home on the APP, and 44 hours later it was played over 1 million times, ” Yang remembered.
After finishing his studies in the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, he became a pianist. With the development of the Internet, he walked into a new world. He filmed over 600 short videos and opened an official account on WeChat to share articles and offer online piano lessons.

Ding Qiulin is a 73-year-old man from Hunan. “I got my smart phone more than one year ago, but I only use WeChat for video calls, ”he said. Ding finds it hard to learn to use other APPs.

Listening to music that was made by a computer isn’t the same experience as listening to human-made music. When I create songs, I put different feelings and real experiences into my work, creating songs that connect with people at a deep level. Songs produced by AI aren’t original because the com-puter just makes music from the old one. AI music isn’t completely creative.

I think music makers can use computers, which help to perfect sound and mix different layers of a song. For them, AI is just another new technology, a tool that they can use to express ideas.
