热考素材 现代科技 2025 is the 25th year that humans have lived in space nonstop. It all started on November 2, 2000. On that day, three astronauts became the first full-time workers on the International Space Station(ISS). Since then, someone has always been on the ISS.

The ISS is a joint project of the US, Russia and other countries. It is a huge science lab in space. It flies around Earth, about 250 miles above the ground. In 25 years, 290 people from 26 countries lived on the ISS. Most of them were professional astronauts. In recent years, some people have paid to visit the station. The ISS has even been used to make a movie.
The ISS has held many important studies on how the human body changes in space. One famous study is about astronaut Scott Kelly. He lived in space for nearly a year. Scientists compared him with his twin brother Mark, who stayed on Earth.
Living in space may seem common now. But the ISS is in great danger all the time. It has been hit by dangerous space rubbish. It has also had cracks(裂缝) and leaks. Once, an astronaut doing a spacewalk almost drowned. Another time, a spaceship connected to the ISS, and it made the station turn quickly in a sudden, unexpected way.
Even so, astronauts and scientists have kept the ISS running. It has worked for much longer than planned. People first thought it would only work for 15 years.
