Festivals bring people in Anhui together. People in northern and southern Anhui celebrate festivals in different ways, but they all have great fun.
At the Spring Festival, people in northern Anhui often make and eat jiaozi with their family. They paste fu on the doors and kids get lucky money. People in southern Anhui also paste fu and get together with family. But they usually eat glutinous rice balls(糯米圆子). They mean reunion(团圆).
At the Dragon Boat Festival, there are some differences too. In northern Anhui, there are fewer dragon boat races. People make sweet zongzi with red bean(红豆). In southern Anhui, people watch dragon boat races and cheer for the players. They make salty zongzi with meat.
At the Mid - Autumn Festival, all people in Anhui eat mooncakes and watch the full moon. People in northern Anhui like sweet mooncakes with nuts. People in southern Anhui love salty mooncakes. They all sit with family, talk happily and share their daily life.
