Deep in the quiet, dark mud（泥巴） lives a small lotus seed. The mud, gentle and protective, acts just like a loving father.
“I long to go out!” the seed whispers. “I want to welcome the warm sunshine and explore the bright, wide world. I will grow strong and enjoy every ray of light above me.”
The mud speaks softly,“Don’t be in a hurry. If you come out too early,storms and strong winds might hurt you. Stay here with me. I will keep you safe and warm.”
However,the seed pays no attention. It can hardly wait to start its new life. The mud remains worried day and night. Even a frog stops by and encourages it to come out.
As days turn into weeks,the seed slowly grows and finally pushes its way above the mud. It experiences wind,rain,and sunshine. In the end,it truly understands. It says with a bright smile,“Thank you,dear mud. Your silent love has made me strong.”
