Many people know the fa-
mous saying “I can’t carry a tune
in a bucket” — it means some-
one sings badly. That’s me! I’m so terrible at
singing,but I really love singing. It makes me
happy,no matter how bad I sound.
A few days ago,my daughter Hunter and
I went to the store. It was quiet,and classic
rock music—my favourite—was playing. Soon,
we started dancing and singing softly. Hunter
laughed and said we were goofy,but we didn’t
care and kept going while looking for food.
That fun moment made me smile!
It also brought back a sweet memory
from years ago. When Hunter and my younger
daughter Erin were little,we lived in the coun-
tryside,and I drove them to childcare every
day. Later,we got a car with a CD player,so
I played children’s songs,and we sang loudly
on the way. One summer day,Hunter and Erin
sat in car seats behind me. Hunter and I sang
loudly to the music when I heard a noise. I
turned down the music,but it stopped. When
I turned it up again,the noise came back—it
was Erin! She shouted “NO! NO!” and held up
her tiny hand like a stop sign.
I know I’m not a good singer,but sing-
ing makes me free and happy. Now,when I’m
alone at home or driving,I still turn up the
music and sing loudly—like nobody’s watch-
ing. That little “NO!” from Erin just makes me
love singing more—it’s a silly,wonderful part
of who I am!

How do you feel when you
see beautiful flowers? Will you be
happy and smile? To show that
flowers can affect people’s feel-
ings,Floria.ro,a flower shop in Romania,per-
formed an online survey.
Here is the result. More than 97% of the
people said they loved to send and get flowers
and over 35% said the act brought them hap-
piness. What other effects do flowers have on
people? 26% said flowers changed their mood.
22% believed flowers made people who got
them feel loved. And 10% thought flowers gave
a festival feeling.
The flower shop then invited 12 women
to a photo shoot. They had no idea why they
took the photos. But during the shoot,they got
