It is said that in the early 1930s, there was a small restaurant run by a man. He made a living by selling noodles and noodle soup in Hankou. One day, he accidentally put some oil into his noodles. Many people asked him what noodles they were. He said they were sesame paste noodles(麻酱面). Many years later they were called hot dry noodles.
