China Conservation and Research Centre for the Giant Panda(CCRCGP,中国大熊猫保护研究中心) on January 28, 2026, the centre announced on Wednesday.
Born in June 2021 at Ueno Zoo in Tokyo, Japan, Xiao Xiao and Lei Lei grew up there. They are the children of Bi Li and Xian Nü. Japanese animal keepers also travelled with the pandas.
Early on Wednesday morning, the twin pandas arrived safely at Chengdu Tianfu International Airport and were later transported to the Ya'an Base. The base has made full preparations for their quarantine, ensuring the pandas can complete their quarantine smoothly and adapt to their new home.
