One Saturday morning, Detective Carey was called in to solve a case. Mr Smith had mysteriously disappeared from his one-storey (一层的) home, according to Carey's partner, Detective Green.
"Everything is set. Mrs Smith will be expecting you in half an hour at 232 Parker Road," Green told Carey in the phone call.
Carey got there quickly. She got out of her car and walked up to the house. Mrs Smith brought her inside right away. "Detective, I'm so glad you came. The last place I saw my husband was in his room. I thought that might be the first thing you would ask me," Mrs Smith said. She led Carey to walk into the other room. "Up here," Mrs Smith called from the stairs. The front door shut just as Carey walked up the stairs. "Oh, I must have left the door open. The wind must have shut it," Mrs Smith said. Again they walked up the stairs.
Halfway up, Carey looked through a window and saw a weathervane (风向标). She noticed that the wind was blowing west. But in order to shut the door, it would have blown east. Suddenly, she heard loud footsteps on the stairs.
Hearing the footsteps on the stairs made her remember what her partner Green had said, "Mr Smith had mysteriously disappeared from his one-storey home." She found out that this was not actually Mr Smith's home because at that very moment she was climbing stairs in a supposedly one-storey house. She realized she had walked into a trap (陷阱).
1. What happened to Mr Smith?
2. Where did Mrs Smith see her husband last time?
3. From which direction did the wind blow when Carey walked into Mr Smith's home?
4. What did Carey hear on the stairs?
5. What do you think of Detective Carey?

Mr Smith had mysteriously disappeared from his one-storey home",所以Mr Smith发生了神秘失踪。
The last place I saw my husband was in his room.",所以Mrs Smith最后一次见到她丈夫是在他的房间里。
Suddenly, she heard loud footsteps on the stairs.",所以Carey在楼梯上听到了脚步声。
