But these plants and animals don't live alone. They are all connected in a web of life called an ecosystem.
Every living thing plays a role in this network. For example, bees and butterflies are very important for pollination. Bees also communicate with each other to find food and then store sweet honey in their honeycomb.

Sadly, human activities sometimes break these connections. When we cut down too many trees like bamboo or ginkgos, animals lose their homes. Xu Liqiang has spent more than 20 years saving wild animals and plants. His hard work made a difference. From 2009 to 2020, more than 1,700 wild animals and 400 flowers plants were saved.
“Though I’m nobody,” said Xu, “I have a big ‘green dream’.”
