What do you know about money?
Have you ever wondered where money comes from and how it works? Let’s take a quick look to learn about money!
The start of money

(1)
The first known coins were made around 2,600 years ago in a place called Lydia (now part of Turkey). These coins were made from a mix of gold and silver and helped people trade more easily.

(2)
Today, there are about 180 kinds of currency (货币) around the world. Each one has its own name and value, like the dollar, euro, yen or yuan.
(3)
Many countries put famous people on their coins and banknotes — like kings, writers or leaders. This helps celebrate important figures (人物) and also makes money easier to recognise.
(4)
