Toys are an important part of traditional folk art. Here is a kind of traditional Chinese toy that is popular throughout the world.

Toys that make sounds can bring more fun to kids. The main toys having a pleasant sound in China are whistles (口哨). The whistle is a traditional Chinese folk toy made of porcelain(陶瓷) or pottery(陶土).
Bird whistles and dog whistles are two kinds of the most common whistles. A bird whistle is shaped like a bird and a dog whistle looks like a dog.
These whistles have something in common. They all have a straight tail, and there is a hole on the tail and a hole on the animal’s head. If you put water into the whistle from the hole on the head and gently blow the whistle, it will give a sweet sound similar to bird singing.

Chinese Knots
Chinese knots are a special form of traditional Chinese folk art with Eastern characteristics. They have a long history. They first appeared in ancient times, developed into an art form in the Tang and Song Dynasties, and became popular in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
People tie the knots with various colored threads. Red is used most because it stands for good luck and prosperity.
Chinese knots are often used as decorations. They can be hung in houses, cars, on mobile phones and other places.
Nowadays, Chinese knots can be seen everywhere in China and are very popular among people. They are not only beautiful but also carry people's good wishes.
