五、阅读理解。
As a group of frogs were traveling through the forest, two of them fell into a deep pit(坑). When the other frogs crowded around the pit and saw how deep it was, they told the two frogs that there was no hope left for them.
However, the two frogs just ignored(忽视) them. They jumped and jumped, trying their best to jump out of the pit.
The crowds at the top were still saying that they should just give up, and that they would never make it out.
Finally, one of the frogs listened to what the others were saying and gave up. The other frog went on jumping as hard as he could. Again, the frogs above shouted at him to stop trying and to just wait for death.
He jumped even harder and finally made it out. When he got out, the other frogs asked, “Why didn’t you listen to us?”
