The fist-and-palm salute(拱手礼) has a history of about 3,000 years. It started during the Western Zhou Dynasty as a way to greet people. Back then, if people met a stranger, they would be ready to fight and their hands would be close to their weapons(武器). But when they put their fists and palms together, it was a way to say "I don't want to fight you". Later on, people kept using it when they met others or wanted to show thanks to somebody.
If you're a man, make a full fist with your right hand, then cover the right fist with your open left hand(the left thumb should be bent and hidden in the palm), and place both hands in front of your chest(about 20-30 cm away from the chest). Look at the person, and you can say some lucky greeting words at the same time. If you're a woman, you should make a full fist with your left hand, then cover the left fist with your open right hand, and also place both hands in front of your chest.
The hold-fist salute is also called Baoquanli in Chinese. It is usually used in Chinese kung fu. You can do it by holding the right fist closed and covering it with the left hand open(the left thumb must be bent and not exposed), keeping arms in front of the chest. But be careful! Don't let the left thumb stick out or point at yourself. It's not polite.

1. 第1题:根据第一段最后一句“Later on, people kept using it when they met others or wanted to show thanks to somebody.” A选项与原文“it was a way to say 'I don't want to fight you'”不符;B选项中“hold-fist salute”才常用于功夫,并非题干的“fist-and-palm salute”;D选项原文未提及,故答案为C。
3. 第3题:根据第三段对抱拳礼(hold-fist salute)的描述“holding the right fist closed and covering it with the left hand open (the left thumb must be bent...)”,结合图示,D选项的动作符合抱拳礼的要求,故答案为D。
4. 第4题:文章介绍了两种中国传统礼仪——拱手礼(fist-and-palm salute)和抱拳礼(hold-fist salute),因此最佳标题为“Two Salutes in China”,对应选项A。
