Ⅱ. Task-based reading

Luka has muscular dystrophy(肌肉萎缩症). He can’t walk, but he would like to take pic-
tures of walking around.
In 2013, when he was 12, he went to Peljhan, a photographer and doctor in a hospital. At first,
Peljhan felt surprised. How could he take a picture of Luka’s walking? “Luka really wanted to see
himself playing and having fun.” he said.
Then Peljhan had a special idea: Luka could lie down on a piece of cloth. With the help of an-
other doctor, Peljhan would help the boy act as if he was jumping, running, swimming and playing
basketball. At last, Peljhan decided to take pictures for the boy. It took them four weeks to finish the
photos.
Peljhan lost his right arm when he was a child. “I understand what people with muscular dys-
trophy would like.” he said.
Peljhan named the pictures “The Little Prince” after a French novel. Luka loves these photos
very much.
