Do you want to know what animals talk about? With the development of AI, we may be able to understand their languages.
All around the animal kingdom, there are sounds that we can hardly pick up and understand. Elephants, for example, talk with one another using infrasound (次声), which cannot be heard by human ears. Corals (珊瑚虫) in the ocean also send sound waves to take baby corals to safer areas to grow. Baby corals listen for the sounds and find their way to the right place. This is surprising as corals don't have any ears! Scientists put some machines into these places to pick up the sounds human can't hear.
After the sounds are recorded (记录), AI can study their meaning. For example, with the help of AI, scientists find what Asiatic wild dogs talk about through whistle (口哨) sounds. They whistle to ask for help when they fight with other animals much larger than them.
