Woodblock printing(雕版印刷) is an important invention in the history of printing, which can date back to the Tang Dynasty. The invention depended on the early copying technology during the Tang Dynasty.
The steps of woodblock printing are divided into three parts: engraving(雕刻), ink(墨水) making, and binding of books. First, choose a piece of smooth wooden board and engrave the text on the woodblock. Second, print the engraved board with ink, put the paper on the surface of the board, and put the hand over the back of the paper. The text will “jump onto the paper”. The third step is binding.
