My favourite cartoon is *SpongeBob SquarePants*. It is set in Bikini Bottom, an underwater city. The main characters are SpongeBob, a cheerful yellow sponge; Patrick Star, his silly starfish friend; Squidward Tentacles, a grumpy octopus; and Mr. Krabs, the greedy owner of the Krusty Krab restaurant.
The cartoon mainly shows SpongeBob’s daily life working as a fry cook at the Krusty Krab. A common plot is that Plankton, a tiny green villain, tries to steal the secret formula of Krabby Patties. The solution is always SpongeBob and his friends working together to stop Plankton and protect the restaurant.
I like this cartoon best for three reasons. First, the characters are lively and funny. SpongeBob’s optimism and Patrick’s silly actions always make me laugh. Second, the stories are simple but meaningful. They teach me the importance of friendship and teamwork. Third, the colorful animation and happy music create a relaxing mood, which helps me forget stress.
