My Volunteer Story in Summer Vacation
Hello everyone, today I want to share my volunteer experience this summer holiday.
I worked as a volunteer in our community this summer. I helped sort out books for the community public library, and I also taught some left-behind primary students to learn easy English words and interesting English games in my free time.
I have been keeping doing this volunteer work for six weeks, from the first week of my summer vacation to the end of it. I spent 3 hours there every Wednesday and Saturday afternoon.
When the little kids could read simple English stories and said "thank you" to me with big smiles, I felt really happy and proud. Many neighbors also said they could find the books they wanted much faster after I sorted the library, that made me feel all my tiring work was meaningful.
I learned that "Roses given, fragrance in hand" is really true. When we give others a hand, we can get much sweet happiness at the same time. Even small kind actions can make a big difference to people in need. I will keep taking part in more volunteer activities later!
