2026年大数据学科质量测评八年级英语下册人教版第27页答案
B
There was nobody in the desert. A lonely tree was growing among hot sands of a dead desert. The sands covered its roots. Though the sun burned it, the Tree kept on living.
One day a hawk flew over the desert. The Hawk saw the Tree and sat on it to have a rest. The Hawk looked around the desert and said, "You are a strange tree. Why do you keep on living among these dead hot sands? Who needs you? What do you live for?"
"You," the Tree answered.
"Me?" the Hawk was surprised. "I don't need you."
"But if not me," the Tree said, "you would have to sit on the hot sands instead of my branches. If not me, someone would ask you why you are here. Sitting on my branches, you think that you don't need me!"
The Hawk then looked at the Tree more carefully. It noticed the branches that had endured plenty of sand storms and the strong roots holding the ground. It realised that this Tree was a fighter in the desert, creating a small green life in the land.
The Hawk thought about what the Tree said and had to agree with the Tree. If there was no tree, the Hawk would feel lonely in this big hot desert. The needs between living things make their lives more meaningful. Everything makes sense. We should all respect and love nature, for we are all part of it.
