Part 1: Facts about a natural wonder
I'd like to introduce the Grand Canyon, one of the greatest natural wonders of the world. It lies in the US state of Arizona. The Colorado River runs through the canyon for millions of years, and now the canyon is about 446 kilometres long, up to 1.6 kilometres deep. Different layers of rocks show different colours at sunrise and sunset, and the view is really amazing.
Part 2: How we connect with nature
We do not have to travel far to get close to nature. We can take a walk in the nearby park after dinner, climb a small hill with our family on weekends, or even just grow a pot of plant on our desk. When we slow down and watch the little things around us, we can easily feel the warm connection between ourselves and nature.
Part 3: What I can do to protect natural wonders
As a middle school student, I can do many small things to protect these natural wonders. First, I will never drop rubbish when I visit natural places, and I will take all my waste away. Second, I will not draw or carve on rocks, trees or other natural objects. Third, I will tell my friends and family about the importance of protecting natural wonders, to call on more people to look after our blue planet.
