My first home is the beautiful grassland with a pool of clear water.
I have a happy life here. I have great with the other young horses in the daytime. At night, I come back and sleep beside my mother. One day, my master sells me to Squire Gordon. He lives with his in a big house. He says, "You're beautiful and have a bright black coat. I shall call you Black Beauty." I learn to carry my master on my back and pull a coach(马车). I also to wear reins(缰绳) and a bit(嚼子) in my mouth. I do not like them, but all the horses must wear them.
One day in autumn, Squire Gordon asks me to pull the coach for him to go out. The weather is rainy and windy. Mr Gordon cannot see in the rain. We come to a bridge. "Something is wrong," I think. I and do not want to go on. Just then a man sees us. "Hey there! Stop!" he cries.
" is it?" shouts Mr Gordon.
"The bridge is broken(坏了) in the middle," he answers. " you go on to it, you will go down into the river."
"Thank you, Black Beauty! You save my life," Mr Gordon says.
When we go back home, Mr Gordon isn't and tells it to Mrs Gordon, "I am safe(安全), and I should Black Beauty!" That night I have good food to eat and a comfortable bed to sleep on. I am very tired but . From then on, Mr Gordon and his family are nice to me.
