一、阅读理解
A
Jiuzhaigou, located in Sichuan, is one of the most beautiful natural scenic spots in China.
The name “Jiuzhaigou” means “the valley of nine Tibetan villages”. There are nine traditional Tibetan villages in the valley. The most amazing part of Jiuzhaigou is its lakes. The water of the lakes is in different colours—blue, green, turquois(蓝绿色)and even red. The colours change with the light and the season, which makes the lakes look like magical stones. The reason for the colourful water is the special minerals and algae(矿物质和藻类) in the lake bed, which reflect the sunlight in different ways.
Jiuzhaigou has more than 100 lakes and lots of waterfalls. The Nuorilang Waterfall is the most famous one. It is about 25 metres high and 270 metres wide, and it is the widest calcified(钙化的) waterfall in China. Standing in front of the waterfall, you will feel the power of nature.
In addition, Jiuzhaigou also has beautiful forests and snow-capped mountains. The forest is home to many rare animals and plants, such as pandas, golden monkeys and Chinese dove trees. The snow-capped mountains stand in the distance, and they make the valley look more magnificent.
Jiuzhaigou is a place of natural beauty. However, it was once broken by an earthquake in 2017. After years of repair and protection, most of the scenic spots have been reopened to the public. We should cherish and protect it well, so that it can always keep its beauty.
