六、阅读理解。
Are you such a parent who always says to your kid,“As a teenager,you shouldn't be allowed to...”? Have you ever thought that the words “you shouldn't be allowed to” may hurt your kids? If your child needs your help,can you realize it as quickly as possible? Well,adults often say,“Kids were so young when something awful happened. They won't even remember it as an adult.” But childhood trauma(精神创伤)can influence a person's whole life. According to a study from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine,the US,kids who experience trauma have an increased risk of having heart disease(疾病)in their 50s and 60s.
The study was put out in the *Journal of the American Heart Association*. Results from the study showed that children grew up in very difficult family environments were more than 50% more likely to have heart disease later in their lifetime. What's more,children who experience trauma face higher risk of lifelong stress and depression(抑郁).
That's not to say that a child will be scared forever if they have a terrible experience. But it's important to recognize(意识到)when a child may need help for dealing with their trauma. ▲ Here are some ways.
· Be patient because it takes long time for a kid to feel better;
· Answer his or her questions honestly and patiently;
· Be a good listener and encourage the child to talk about his or her feelings;
· Help the child understand that life is always full of difficulties,but parents will be with him or her;
· Encourage the child to make friends with those who are outgoing and friendly.
If the child is too shy to speak out,try to communicate by writing a note or sending messages on WeChat.
