Many years ago, Hangzhou was a small village. Not many people lived there. Many of them were fishermen and farmers. They went fishing and grew rice. There were many bridges in old Hangzhou. There were many boats on the river.
Later, people from other places came to Hangzhou and it became a town. There were some shops in the street. People could buy things there. There were more and more businessmen. They sold food and groceries.
Today, Hangzhou is a big city. There are a lot of tall buildings. Many people live there. There is a lot of traffic on the road. There are a lot of tourists visiting Hangzhou. Some of them are from other countries. They like to visit the West Lake and they like Longjing Tea. They think Hangzhou is very beautiful and people of Hangzhou are really nice.
